Do you support Emotional Support Animals (ESAs)?
Answer
We do, within parameters. We feel strongly about the value animals can provide in a supportive and therapeutic context. As such, we are comfortable providing recommendations for ESAs to our active and engaged clients. In order to qualify for an ESA, you need to have a previously determined and corroborated psychological diagnosis. We also require some identification of the longitudinal nature of the problem as well as treatment interventions attempted. These are established by and inherent to the relationships we have with our on-going clients. As such, please do not contact our office and ask for a letter to be provided with no established client relationship, as there is no initial basis of evidence for us to make a determination about your ESA needs.
